The first time I heard of a blog, a former professor e-mailed me and asked if I would be interested in participating in one. Being the smart guy I am, I said sure, without knowing what a blog was.
Six years later, at the wise age of 32, I’m all over blogs. Well, I haven’t blogged in months, back when myspace wasn’t Johnny Bender (guess that makes facebook Emilio Estevez and Molly Ringwold Twitter), so this is the outlet for writing. It’ll also be nice to update the fam without, you know, having to actually call them.
Ernie’s Web. I can’t credit for that one. The late great Kurt Kessinger tagged my first column that at the Osage County Chronicle way back in the 1990s, when a web log would have taken six hours to type on dial-up.
So, what will it be about? Sports, of course. But there will rants and complaints, updates, perspective, blah, blah, blah. It could be bitching about Mickey Rourke being worked over by the Academy (even though I’ve never bothered to watch Milk), explaining why Family Guy sucks (it’s as overrated the band Phish), or talking about Super Nintendo.
So, sit back and enjoy (or hate). And because I know the family is reading this … I’ll call you back (I promise, lol).
